Important Access Update
The Gate Now Uses an Electronic Lock
We have officially transitioned to a new electronic gate lock. It replaces the physical keys entirely — there is no longer a metal key to collect, carry or return. The gate is opened from your phone. The Master Lock Vault 6400 on the gate opens over Bluetooth from the free Master Lock Vault Enterprise app. One-time setup takes about ten minutes.

Every match, practice day, work party and safety briefing. This is the club's live calendar — check it before every trip, and add it to your own phone so you never miss a match.
Range Access & Ground Rules
The range is maintained and operated by its members. These three are the ones that get people removed — all range rules apply at all times.
Sunday & Hours
Closed every Sunday. No shooting before 8:00 am, and no use after sunset.
Pack Everything Out
Used targets, expended brass and trash — yours and anything others left behind.
Members & Guests
Guests are $5.00 per day and must be accompanied by the paid member. Spouse and children shoot free.

Public Trails Surround the Range
The shooting range is located within an area surrounded by public-access hiking, biking, and recreational trails. All range users are advised to remain vigilant and be aware of individuals who may be traveling on or near the surrounding trail system.
All shooting activities should be conducted in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with applicable range rules and safety practices. Maintaining awareness of the surrounding area is essential to protecting the public and ensuring these recreational trails remain safe and accessible for all users.
Why We Exist
The Association was formed around two purposes, and everything at the range serves one of them.
Purpose One
Compete at a National Level
To train in, and practice shooting disciplines with a goal of competing at a national level. Our matches are run under CMP and NRA rules on electronic targets.
Purpose Two
Train Youth Safely
To train youth in the safe use of firearms and develop sound marksmanship skills. All persons under 21 must have an adult member present at all times while shooting.

The range has served Davis County and the surrounding communities for more than fifty years, and its purpose has not changed.
The City of Centerville planned and developed the facility in 1969 as a public recreation resource for hunter safety education, marksmanship training and competitive shooting. The City owns the property; the Centerville Small Arms Association conducts operational oversight with City authorization.

The City of Centerville formally plans and develops the range as a supervised public safety and community recreation facility.

24 November 1969
The Mayor of Centerville formally requests assistance from the Weber Basin Civilian Conservation Center.

9 December 1969
The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation approves the project explicitly as a community recreation project.

Fifty-plus years on, the range's location, access and use remain consistent with its original documented purpose.

Volunteers Are Welcome
You do not need experience to help run a match or work on the range — we will train you. Members complete 5 hours at a service day each year, and new shooters are encouraged at every practice match.
